Similar to it’s predecessor Jazz , Hip Hop started in the streets as a form of expression by disenfranchised minorities. As Hip Hop globally expanded into a worldwide phenomena it split into two branches:
1. A commercial tool of pacification and much less 2. A voice of dissent.
In these tough economic times, as the voice of dissent grows, how will Hip Hop grow with it?
Soon artists learned that dissent is not profitable but pacification is.
